CTR not filed for 3 high-value cash transactions

Description

During review of the Andheri (E) branch cash management controls for June 2026, three cash transactions exceeding ₹10 lakh were identified in the CBS CTR register that were not reported to FIU-IND within the statutory 15-day window. Aggregate value ₹47.2 lakh across accounts 04412001832, 04412009471 and 04412004120.

Root cause

Manual CTR generation was not run for the last week of June due to staff leave; no automated fallback or maker-checker alert was configured in the Core Banking System.

Recommendation

Enable automated CTR scheduling in the Core Banking System with maker-checker escalation. File the pending CTRs immediately with a rationale note to FIU-IND, and introduce a weekly reconciliation control between the cash GL and the CTR register.
